Royals Pull Away From Jacks Late

The Lumberjack Women's Basketball dropped a Mon-Dak Conference game Sunday afternoon to Lake Region State College 74-55.

The Jacks fell be in the early going 10-0. The Jacks would respond, as over the final 5:30 of the first quarter DCB would go on a 12-2 run to force a 12-12 tie after one quarter.  The second quarter saw the Royals regain the lead, but the Jacks stayed within striking distance. At the half LRSC led 32-26.

The Jacks opened the second half on a 10-2 run capped by a Serinity Soland 3-pointer to take a 36-34 lead. LRSC responded by finishing the half on a 12-4 run to put their lead back at 6 where it started the quarter at 46-40. Early in the fourth quarter the Royals saw their lead grow to double digits for the first time since the opening quarter at 53-43. The Lumberjacks rallied cutting the lead back to two possessions at 55-50. However, over the final 5 minutes the Royals took control of the game finishing on a 19-5 run to take a 74-55 victory.

Jersey Vogel led two Lumberjacks in double figures with 16 points; she also pulled down 11 rebounds for a double-double. Soland also finished in double figures with 11 points. Sydney Schwabe led the Royals and all scorers with 28 points.

DCB falls to 2-15 overall and 0-2 inside the Mon-Dak. The Jacks wrap up non-conference play Wednesday when the University of Jamestown JV team visits "The Woodshed." Tip-off is set for 5:00p.m.
