The Lumberjack Women's Basketball team dropped a pair of non-conference games this past weekend to the University of Jamestown JV team and the Mayville State JV teams by scores of 65-48 and 87-61 respectively.
65-48 loss to UJ JV
After a sluggish first quarter the Jacks hung with the Jimmies over the next thirty minutes but were unable to completely dig themselves out. Jersey Vogel led the Jacks with 17 points. She was joined in double figures by Kenya Poitra who had 12. Mel Upfield was one point shy of a double-double bringing in 10 rebounds. Alexa Ham led the Jimmies and all scorers with 21 points.
87-61 loss to MSU JV
DCB found themselves in a tightly contested game entering the fourth quarter, but a 16-0 run by the Comets would put the game out of reach. The Jacks battled foul trouble having three players foul out. Vogel led all scorers with 23 points and was just a rebound shy of a double-double. Bailey Clott joined Vogel in double figures with 12 points. Macy Monson led the Comets with 22 points.
The Jacks sit a 1-6 overall. This weekend DCB will finally get to play inside the friendly confines of "The Woodshed after playing their first 7 games on the road or at neutral sites. The Jacks host Canadian Mennonite for a pair of games Friday and Saturday a 5:30p.m. and 12:00p.m. each day the men will follow.
