Hosting a playoff game was a goal that this year's DCB volleyball team set out to accomplish this season.  They not only reached that goal but won their first playoff game in many years defeating Lake Region State College 3-1 (25-17, 25-20, 21-25, 25-17) on Friday night at the Woodshed.

The game was a part of a Woodshed triple-header as both basketball teams played their last regular season games setting the stage for an exciting night of volleyball.  A loud home crowd saw the Ladyjacks dominate from start to finish. Except for a close loss in the third math the Ladyjacks were the dominant team on this night.

Sophomore Shonte Seale lead the team with 18 kills followed by fellow Barbadian freshman Chante Moore who added 14.  It was a great defensive effort as 11 different players picked up digs lead by team leader freshman Baillie Williams who had 13.  The Ladyjacks were a force on the block as well with Moore picking up 5 blocks while fellow freshman middle Helen Salt added 4 and Seale added 3.  Freshman Dashonta Addison added 18 assists while sophomore Sam Harris added 14.

The team moves on to face NDSCS on Monday March 29th in Wahpeton starting at 7:00pm.  NDSCS is undefeated in MonDak play and Head Coach Mike Smith knows they are facing a tough team.  "Science is very tough.  They have a lot of talent and are well coached.  But they are beatable.  We have to play our best game of the year but we have played well in three straight wins.  We know what to expect and we just have to execute our game plan and limit mistakes.  They make so few mistakes so you cannot give them any free points.  We are ready and excited to be in this situation.  They have all the pressure.  We just get on the bus and go have fun.  I truly believe we match up pretty well with them.  We just have to be really good when it counts Monday night.
