The Lumberjack Softball team picked up three wins on their spring trip, going 3-9. The Jacks earned wins over North Platte 10-4 and swept Fort Hayes Tech 6-5 and 9-1.
In the victory over North Platte Hope Zirk and Keely Thornton led the offensive attack with 3 RBIs each. Thornton doubled twice and Zirk homered and hit a triple. Aislyn Richard had one hit and drove in two runs. Jaelyn Grant and Adyson Brady each had an RBI, Brady and Emanuell Weber each stole two bases. Thornton got the start in the circle and struck out five batters. Richard earned the win in relief with three strikeouts.
In the game one win over Fort Hayes Tech Weber drove in two runs. Brast Thornton and Grant all doubled. Taidyn Lalonde, Richard, and Thornton all drove in a run. On the basepaths Brady swiped two more bases and Grant also stole a base. Richard picked up the win in the circle and had four strikeouts.
The Jacks completed the sweep of Fort Hayes Tech in their final win of the trip. Richard led DCB's offensive output with 4 RBIs and a double. Brady tripled, drove in a run, and stole another base. Kaisee Witnicki and Zirk also had an RBI. Thornton got the win in the circle and tallied 4 strikeouts. Ava Klinger had a strikeout in relief.
Adyson Brady leads Jacks in numerous offensive categories including hits (16), runs (14), triples (4) stolen bases (12), and batting average (.372). Aislyn Richard leads DCB with 15 RBIs and Keely Thornton leads the team with 6 doubles. Richard also leads the team with 35 strikeouts.
DCB wraps up non-conference play this weekend at Highland Community College.
