The Ladyjack softball team traveled to play against Dawson CC in a four game stand this past weekend.
In game one, the Ladyjacks watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-1 loss to Dawson on Friday. Dawson scored on an error, an error, and a passed ball in the first inning.
Dawson took an early lead in the first inning. An error scored three runs for Dawson.
Nicole Frederiksen took the loss for the Ladyjacks. She pitched three innings, giving up nine runs, nine hits, striking out three, and walking one.
Jacie Ceglowski led the Ladyjacks with two hits in three at bats.
In game two, the Jacks fell 4-3 to Dawson on Friday despite out-hitting them eight to five.
Dawson took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, the Bucs homered off of Tascha Livingstone, driving in three runs and the Bucs doubled off of Livingstone, driving in one run.
Livingstone took the loss for the Ladyjacks. She threw six innings, giving up four runs, five hits, striking out nine, and walking one.
The Ladyjacks collected eight hits by Victoria Tolle and Livingstone each collected two hits to lead the team.
Dawson tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases.
With a new day on the horizon, and the Ladyjacks hinging in with the Bucs in the previous game, they were ready to get after it. In game three, the Jacks watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-3 loss to Dawson on Saturday.
Dawson took an early lead in the first inning when the Bucs drove in one off a single.
The Ladyjacks scored three runs in the sixth inning on a double by Rayla Marema and a single by Kennedy Sondrol.
Tascha Livingstone took the loss for the Jacks as she tossed seven innings, surrendering 13 runs, 14 hits, and striking out four.
Marema led DCB with two runs batted in. She went 1-for-3 on the day.
With the last game approaching, the Ladyjacks wanted to at least get one win. In game four, the Jacks watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-0 loss to Dawson on Saturday.
Dawson took an early lead in the first inning off an error and drove in two when she homered in the first inning.
Dawson scored three runs in the fifth inning. Dawson's big inning was driven by a single and a home run.
One bright spot for the Jacks was a single by Kennedy Sondrol in the first inning.
Sondrol led the Ladyjacks with two hits in two at bats.
The Jacks will next face the Mystics of Bismarck State for their first home game on 4/22 with the first pitch being at 1:00 pm.
