The Lumberjack Men's Basketball stretched their win streak to three games with wins over Northland Community and Technical College and Minnesota North Itasca by scores of 73-63 and 102-58 respectively.
73-63 Win over Northland
The Jacks steadily grew their lead in the first half, eventually taking a 10-point lead into the halftime break. It was more of the same in the second half as the Jacks lead ballooned to 20+ points. A late run by the Pioneers would see them cut the final deficit to 10 points at a final score of 73-63. Elijah Reynolds led all scores with 20 points off the bench he was joined in double figures by Edward Lual with 17 points.
102-58 Win over Itasca
After a tightly contested first 8 minutes the Jacks broke the game open in the final 12 minutes of the first half outscoring the Vikings 31-12 to close the half to take a 48-29 lead into the locker room. It was more of the same in the second half as DCB outscored Itasca 54-29 in the final 20 minutes. Lual led all scorers and four Lumberjacks in double figures with 20 points. Jaden Arzola scored 19 points and hit 5 3-pointers. MarQuez Tyree poured in 11 off the bench and Reynolds added 10 also coming off the bench. As a team the Jacks shot over 50% from the field and from deep and knocked down a total of 13 3-pointers.
With the win the Jacks see their record improve to 3-2 overall. Next up DCB heads to NDSCS for a classic this weekend Friday they will take on the Valley City State JV team at 3:00p.m. and Saturday they will play Central Community College at 1:00p.m.
