The Lumberjack Baseball team took on of four games from the Wildcats of NDSCS over their four-game series.
6-3 Win
Boyd Anderson and Austin Neilson each tallied three hits including a double apiece. Nielson also drove in two runs. Kaio English and Alonso Rodriguez each had singles. Brennan Niewinski was credited with an RBI. Killian Snarr got the win on the mound, going 6.2 innings and striking out 5 Wildcats. Noah Medeios got the save and registered one strikeout.
8-5 Loss
In game two Carlos Urrieche, Anderson, and Neilson all had base hits. Urrieche also stole a base. Dominic Holmstrup doubled, and homered will driving in two runs. Niewinski got the start on the mound and struck out 5 batters. Cooper Coble had four strikeouts in a relief appearance and Nolan Wright also had a strikeout in relief.
13-12 Loss
The Jacks lost a slugfest in Mondays opener 31-12 when NDSCS scored three runs in the bottom of the 7th to win the game. The high point for the Jacks was a 10-run 3rd inning that included two Holmstrup home runs. Aidan McCoy had two hits in the game as well including a double and drove in a run. Logan Beck, Anderson Niewinski, and Rodriguez also all had a hit, Beck tallied two RBIs. Grady Holen fanned one Wildcat in his one inning of work. English sat down one Wildcat in a relief appearance and Neilson had two strikeouts also in relief.
7-1 Loss
The Jacks dropped the series finale Monday afternoon. Anderson had two hits and Beck had one. On the mound Owen Taylor and Chris Losey each had one strikeout.
The Jacks are scheduled to close out their regular season with a split series doubleheader with Lake Region State College on Saturday in Devils Lake and Sunday in Bottineau. Stay tuned to DCB social media channels for any weather-related updates.
