Brouwer Named Next Head Women's Hockey Coach

Dakota College at Bottineau is excited to announce the hiring of Richard Brouwer as the next Head Women's Hockey Coach at DCB. Coach Brouwer takes over for Reed Loucks, who coached the team since the inception of the program. Coach Brouwer brings great experience to Dakota College at Bottineau, through his extensive amount of coaching experience at multiple levels. Coach Brouwer spent the last 6 years as the Head Coach & Director of Operations at UNC Wilmington for their Men's DII ACHA team. During that time Brouwer guided the program to its first ever ACHA DII Regional Tournament appearance, while being named the ACC Premier Division Coach of the Year for the 2024-2025 season. Coach Brouwer also brings experience from other levels working with the Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings and the Carolina Junior Hurricanes, leading the Hurricanes to the USA Hockey 18U National Championship. Coach Brouwer graduated from The Rochester Institute of Technology where he was a member of the 1983 NCAA DII National Championship Team.
