The Lumberjack Women's Hockey team fell in overtime Saturday to the University of Jamestown 4-3.
The Jimmies got on the board first with a goal just before the halfway point of the first period. Late in the first period Macy Wither stole the puck and evened the game on a breakaway. The Jimmies retook the lead with just 65 seconds remaining in the period. Calleja Misson evened the game with five and a half minutes to go in the second period. Stephanie Hogan and Maya Mortensen picked the assists. Just 28 seconds later Carli Durston gave the Jacks the lead at 3-2 Kaitlyn Haight assisted. An early goal by UJ in the 3rd period tied the game. Both teams had opportunities in the period but couldn't find the back of the net. In overtime it took Jamestown just 17 seconds to score and take the win 4-3.
With the loss DCB falls to 8-8-1-1 on the season. The Jacks wrap up their regular season Saturday and Sunday with a home and home with Assiniboine. Saturday's contest will take place inside "The Lumberdome" and will be Sophomore Day. Puck drop will be 3:00p.m.
