Jacks Blank Huskers Twice

The Lumberjack Women's Hockey team shutout the Nebraska Cornhuskers twice this past weekend 5-0 and 4-0 to pick up a weekend sweep on the road.

5-0 Win

Calleja Misson got the scoring going for the Jacks just a minute and thirteen seconds into the game for the Jacks, Macy Wither snagged the assist. Misson scored for the second time later in the period, Stephanie Hogan assisted. Early in the second period Misson scored for the third time, this time on the powerplay, Maya Mortensen was credited with the assist. As the second period neared its conclusion Carli Durston found the back of the net off an assist from Ffion Devonald. Late in the third period Devonald scored a goal of her own, Hope Zirk had the assist. Riley Richardson picked up the shutout win in net with 18 saves.

After a scoreless first period, Misson opened the scoring in the second period with an unassisted goal. DCB took full control of the game in the third period, Mortensen scored two minutes into the period. Durston scored her second goal of the weekend on a powerplay a few minutes later, Danee Crepeele and Cameren Rudniski assisted on the goal. Misson closed out the scoring with her fifth goal of the weekend with an unassisted shorthanded goal. Caitlin Fillion earned the win in net with 35 saves.

The Lumberjacks record improves to 5-2-1. The Jacks who were ranked 5th in the latest ACHA West Region ranking will be off until after the New Year.
