The Lumberjack Men's Hockey team dropped their first two series of the season. The first to Montana State and this past weekend to St Thomas.
Montana State series
In game one of the weekend Carter Ralston got the Jacks on the board first just two and a half minutes into the contest when he found the back of the net. Aidan Diehl and Riley Opperude had the assists. The Bobcats responded with three goals to close out the period. Montana State tacked on an insurance goal in the third period to take the win 4-1. Josh Mack to the loss in net for the Jacks but was credited with 48 saves on the night.
Coen Schmeichel had a goal and an assist in game two. Kayden Cey scored two goals in game two, and Ralston scored his second goal of the weekend. Opperude added two more assists to his season total and Diehl tallied another assist as well. Carson Lockhart had 43 saves in net for the Jacks.
St Thomas series
The Jacks dropped a pair of games this past weekend to the Tommies of St Thomas. The scoring for Jacks in those two games is as follows. Nick Cofer found the back of the net early in the first period, off assists from Ralston and Christian Crutcher. Cey netted his third goal of the season and Jacob Kjorstad picked up the assist. In game two Jeremy Klimchuk scored his first of the season and Cey and Crutcher were credited with the assists. Diehl picked up his first goal of the season to close out the scoring Klimchuk had the assist.
The Jacks record sits at 0-4-0-0 early in the season. DCB kicks off a weekend series Friday at Lake Region game time is set for 7:00p.m. Saturday the Jacks host the Royals in a rare doubleheader at "The Lumberdome." The men's game will follow the women's game with an approximate start time of 6:00p.m.
